Do you drink a lot of coffee? So do we! Luckily, Sarasota has some great local coffee shops to check out. Whether you are just visiting or a local looking to change it up from Starbucks, here are some great coffee shops around Sarasota (in no particular order):
While Kahwa Coffee is actually from St. Pete, we have a great little coffee shop right here in downtown Sarasota. We love the coffee here and sitting outside on the sidewalk. They also have delicious pastries (including some amazing vegan pastries from We Vegan Eats!)
Location: 1487 2nd St
Pastry Art is another great coffee/sandwich shop located in downtown Sarasota. They have great coffee and more variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They also have sidewalk seating.
Location: 1512 Main St, Sarasota
Lelu (Siesta Key)
Lelu on Siesta Key is one of our favorite places to go grab a coffee when we want to treat ourselves. It’s a little pricey, but the coffee shop is so adorable and has such a nice vibe. Their coffee is delicious, and they have a full menu. Sitting outside and enjoying the nice weather and tropical views makes us feel like we are on vacation. An added bonus is that they have a full liquor bar. Lelu’s does a lot of events, so you’ll definitely want to stop by!
Location: 5251 Ocean Blvd
Mocha Joe’s (Bradenton)
We discovered this place by accident and are so glad we did! It is a no-frills diner, but the servers are so nice and the coffee is surprisingly delicious. They have recently redone the restaurant and now have a to-go coffee and pastries window if you don’t have time for a sit down breakfast.
Location: 3633 Cortez Rd
Coffee Breeze (Nokomis)
Coffee Breeze was discovered through Instagram. We don’t go down this way too often, but the last time we went to Venice, we decided to make a stop at Coffee Breeze. They have amazing coffee and pastries (even some vegan options). They also have a drive-thru!
Location: 997 North Tamiami Trail
Buddy Brew is based in Tampa, and it is the coffee served at one of our favorite places in Tampa, Oxford Exchange. When they announced they were opening a Sarasota location, we were so happy! The coffee shop is small, but the outdoor seating area is so relaxing. Now, it does seem like they may have changed the way they make their coffee. It definitely tastes different now from when it first opened. It is no longer our favorite coffee, but we still enjoy going here and sitting outside on the couches.
Location: 1289 N. Palm Avenue
Out & About Coffee
If you are looking for a really unique place to get coffee, check out Out & About! This is actually a coffee stand and usually during the week it is located on Main Street. The coffee is amazing. It is pricey, but it’s worth it. The owner is so knowledgeable about coffee and it’s fun to see the whole coffee stand set up.
Location: Usually at 1736 Main St. Check Facebook for the most up to date location information.
Now, these are the only local coffee shops we have personally tried so far! If you have any other recommendations, please let us know!
