We just got off a relaxing five night Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas. This is overall one of our favorite ships to go on. We have been on it several times now since it has made Tampa its winter home. The Brilliance is a more medium-sized ship, so it doesn’t have a lot of the activities like the bigger ships do. Nevertheless, we always have a great time; the service is always excellent and the food is delicious. There is enough entertainment to keep us occupied. We also like this ship size because it’s big enough but not overwhelming. Of course, this is a cruise so there are also plenty of places to … imbibe. Here are all the bars to check out on the Brilliance of the Seas. Please drink responsibly!
Bars on the Brilliance of the Seas
The R Bar is located in the Centrum. It offers a great view for the many activities going on in the Centrum, including our favorite Disco Inferno ’70s dance party. This full bar also has some fun specialty drinks. Try the “Let’s Get Fizzical.”
Vintages is a beautiful wine bar located on Deck 6. There are interesting couches and decor and floor to ceiling windows. The bartender here is very knowledgeable, so if you are looking for recommendations this is a great place to go. Also, it’s a full bar so if you aren’t a wine drinker don’t worry.
A popular spot on most Royal Caribbean ships, the Schooner Bar usually has trivia during the day and live music at night. We liked this Schooner Bar because it had seats on both sides of the bar, so you could also sit and look out the window. This is a great spot to grab a drink before dinner.
King & Country Pub
Enjoy a pint (or whatever you have a taste for) at the King & Country Pub. They have specialty drinks here, as well as some classics like Old-Fashioneds, Manhattans, Martinis, and lots more. The pub tends to get a little raucous later in the night, but early in the evening it’s a great spot to grab a drink. They also play popular sporting events on the TVs here, so get there early if you want a seat to watch a game.
The Pool Bar (Deck 11) and the Sky Bar (Deck 12) are the places to be during the day. Enjoy a daiquiri, piña colada, or whatever the drink of the day is. If you don’t feel like getting out of the hot tub, the servers coming around are happy to take your order. There is also a bar in the Solarium (Deck 11).
Viking Crown Lounge/Starquest
The Viking Crown Lounge is a staple of Royal Caribbean ships, and it offers some of the best views during the day. At night it turns into the nightclub on board the ship complete with a DJ. Dance the night away while enjoying all your favorite drinks. (18+ at night)
One of the reasons we are so loyal to Royal Caribbean is because of the Crown & Anchor Society. We are Diamond level now, so we get access to the Diamond Lounge. If you are also a Diamond member, the Diamond Lounge is located right next to the Viking Crown Lounge. This lounge is small and gets busy right around 5:00pm but then clears out when people go down for first dinner seating. The service is always excellent here.
There is also a bar located in the Casino and the Pacifica Theatre, where the shows are. We like all the bars on the Brilliance of the Seas because they all offer a different vibe. The Park Cafe located in the Solarium is open late for when you need that midnight snack.
Have you been on the Brilliance of the Seas or another Royal Caribbean ship? Where are your favorite places to grab a drink?
