Characters in Flight taking flight!
Yesterday I made an impromptu trip to Downtown Disney while I had some time to waste. I think going to Disney is the perfect way to spend a few hours! I felt the usual happy feeling while driving under the big ‘Walt Disney World’ sign that I am sure we can all relate to. I also noticed that the road signs now say ‘Disney Springs.’ Pretty cool! We are all very excited for the Downtown Disney makeover. This has been a long time coming. And although we do miss Pleasure Island (loved the Adventurer’s Club!), this new expansion is already looking great. The Boathouse is an excellent edition and we are anxiously awaiting for the rest of the construction to be done!
I did park in the new parking garage and I have to say I was a little disappointed. Every time I went down an aisle that said there were spots available, there were cars parked in the spots that had a green light. The system must still be a work in progress, but it was frustrating.
The Traveling Gals Tip: If possible, use Disney transportation to get to Downtown Disney! Because of all the construction the traffic situation is not good. We have also parked at Old Key West or Saratoga and taken the boat over, but only do that during low season when it is not busy.
It was nice walking around because it was not that crowded. I got to leisurely walk through the stores and check out all the happenings at Downtown Disney. (Or I guess I should start referring to it as Disney Springs!)
Some of my favorite spots to sit are at the Food Trucks area and the walkway on the water that goes from the Starbucks to House of Blues. (Both on the West Side).
What are your favorite spots to sit and relax at Disney Springs?
