Barrier Islands are long, thin sandy stretches of land that protect the coast from the full force of storm waves. Between the island and the mainland is a calm water body such as a bay. Florida has more barrier islands than any other state. They are idyllic places to enjoy the tropical sunshine. By: Keoni Cabral Panhandle There are many barrier islands in the Florida panhandle and many are connected via bridge for easy access. Some…

What is it like to take a class at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival? Disney World Challenge: 4 Parks in 1 Day Post by Ashley For those who love Disney World, a popular challenge is going to all 4 parks in 1 day. Towles Court Creative Arts Community Tucked away amongst the moss-draped oak trees in the Laurel Park neighborhood of downtown Sarasota is the Towles Court Creative Arts Community.  In 1905 Sarasota’s first Mayor built his home in this area along with a nine-hole golf course.  In the 1920’s William Towles turned the golf course into a small residential neighborhood.  The area went through periods of prosperity and peril until 1983 when NJ Olivieri saw potential in Sarasota and bought up decaying properties in the area with the intention of razing them and building new homes.  Instead friends approached him with the…

Celebrating Christmas at Disney World Our family has spent Christmas at Disney World for many years. It is our favorite place to spend the holidays. We love all the decorations, music, and holiday events throughout the World. Although we are sad that our beloved Osborne Light show is gone, there are still some wonderful things to do. Because our family is small, we enjoy being able to go out of town to celebrate Christmas at the most magical place on Earth. When we lived in Chicago, we would exchange gifts and have our big Christmas dinner a few days early…
