Thank you for visiting our blog! We hope you enjoy our varied travel-related posts! This blog was created to share our experiences, tips, memories, opinions, and general musings about a variety of topics.
Travel. We are all fairly seasoned travelers. We love to go on trips, whether a short weekend trip to Chicago or a 2 week journey through Southeast Asia. Because we are three generations (grandmother, mother, and granddaughter) we all have different perspectives that we hope to share with you through this blog. If we can inspire and give some tips on how to make the most out of your trip, then fabulous!
Healthy eating. The Traveling Gals (for the most part) are very healthy eaters. Kary follows a strict plant-based diet and is very passionate about healthy eating, and recipes that are affordable and easy to make. That’s not to say that we don’t occasionally indulge, but our blog features healthy recipes and how to maintain your healthy lifestyle while traveling. Even if you don’t follow a plant-based diet, our tips can help you make better choices next time you are on that cruise!
Disney. Our family are unashamed, big Disney fans. We love going to Disney World. We only live 2 hours away now, so we go a lot. Our blog will feature plenty of Disney-related posts and pictures. We are Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members.
Things That Inspire Us. Unfortunately we cannot travel all the time, all though we sure wish we could! When the wanderlust hits us particularly hard, we enjoy reading books, magazines, watching movies, and television shows that inspire us. Our blog features reviews on these in case you want to be inspired as well!
Now A Little About Us…
Carol: “It was always my love of people that inspired me to run the Single Gourmet Dining and Travel Club for over 20 years. It was my even greater love of family that convinced me that our three generations have the opportunity to share the educational experiences and treasures of traveling together. In thinking back on all those exciting years, it reminded me of how many interesting people that crossed our paths and all the new friends and acquaintances that were made through our journeys. It truly gifted my family and I with so many unforgettable opportunities to explore. It opened our hearts and minds to other surroundings and cultures that we would have never had the chance to share. Traveling makes history come alive. Stories are no longer pictures in a travel book, but tangible memories that you remember, share and cherish forever.”
Kary: “The experience of travel to new places and cultures is the greatest and most interesting part of life! I have been lucky enough to have visited 6 continents and over 40 countries with the other traveling gals, but that is only the beginning! I am passionate about healthy, plant-based eating and staying active both at home and on the road. I am an avid reader of travel journals and essays to inspire me. I am from Chicago, but made the change to live in Sarasota a few years ago and have not looked back I miss the hustle and bustle of city life, but it can’t compare to the beach and sunshine every day. When not able to travel far, I travel near as a frequent and enthusiastic guest of Disney, making the most of what the World has to offer.”
Ashley: “I am sure you can see why I love to travel! My family has always placed an importance on learning about and experiencing other cultures. My goal is to visit all 7 continents (5 down, 2 to go!) and continuing to travel, both abroad and within the United States. I graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in International Business and am very interested in learning about how other countries do business. I have been lucky enough to travel to some very neat and interesting places and am so excited to share all of my experiences and tips with you. Although I am the creator of the blog and will be the main person running The Traveling Gals, I would have never had this idea if it weren’t for my mom and grandma. Also, I love going to Disney World love sharing my adventures there as well. Enjoy!”
